Flipkart To Shut Its Website

After shutting Myntra site, the e-retailer Flipkart decided to shut its website.The entire online business of the digital shopping forum will exist only through its tiny mobile app.

Flipkart’s vice-president of retail and head of brand alliances, Michael Adani said that the mobile traffic of the e-retailer had gone up by 10 times in last 18 months.

Just within a year, the Flipkart would be available only as an app-only format.

The Flipkart had already removed its mobile site and now, if you try to find URL, the webpage redirects you to the App store (for Apple) or Google play store (Android).

According to a report, the e-retailer Flipkart.com has around 40 million users who buy more than 20 million products from 30,000 vendors available on the site.

After China and the US, with more than 243 million active users, India is the third-largest internet market in the world.

According to a report, India will have around 580 million internet users by 2018 and most of them will be active through smartphones.
